Commercially savvy and creatively spirited, Midwinter Films works across the Australasian region to develop and produce scripted screen content for the local and international marketplace. Midwinter Films engages filmmakers with exceptional vision and storytelling skills, and nurtures both established and emerging writers and directors. ‘The Butterfly Tree’, Midwinter Film’s first feature film, by debut writer/director Priscilla Cameron and starring Melissa George, Ewen Leslie, Ed Oxenbould and Sophie Lowe, premiered at Melbourne International Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival. Midwinter Films produced Over and Out with Van Vuuren Bros, which won Best Short Form at Canneseries. Midwinter Films works in open collaboration with other production companies. Current strategic production partners include: Jungle, Van Vuuren Bros, Easy Tiger and My Friend Chaos. Our slate includes television drama, television comedy, children’s television, family feature and feature comedy/dramas.
