For over 30 years, the Gold Coast screen industry has continued to evolve, attracting the world’s top directors, producers and cast, employing thousands of residents, and contributing millions of dollars into our local economy.
The Gold Coast is the first local government in Australia to have a Screen Attraction Program. This program is administered through our Gold Coast Film Commission, a member of the AFCI (Association of Film Commissioners International), providing a dedicated team to support and assist the industry with expert industry advice on financial incentives and a pathway to essential government agencies.
SCREEN FOREVER is a chance to bring together industry leaders, financiers and producers as they share their knowledge and expertise.
My message to all delegates is straightforward, we are here to help and have replaced red tape with red carpet. We are currently partnering with Shadowbox Studios to create a global film studio precinct with sound stages, back lots and post-production facilities in the north of the coast which will cement our position on the world stage.
Our city offers so much to the industry: incredible natural attractions, reliable weather, internationally recognised crew, state of the art facilities and a dedicated screen industry Film Commission.
