It is my absolute pleasure to welcome you to the incredible Gold Coast for SCREEN FOREVER 39. Screen Queensland is proud to be the Principal Partner of this event alongside the Queensland Government.
Here in the sunshine state, we are currently enjoying a period of strong momentum across screen production and post-production. But in such a globally connected and complex industry, it is vital that we come together as a sector to explore where we are heading, and this year’s SCREEN FOREVER program is the ideal platform for the times.
Over the three days of the conference, we all have a chance to apply the creativity inherent in our sector to unearth new opportunities that we can pursue across storytelling, audiences, funding and distribution.
From a distinctly Australian perspective, what are the relationships we need to forge, where do we need to think outside the box, and what will always be at the heart of what we do?
I hope you come away from this year’s SCREEN FOREVER with new connections, fresh ideas and a sense of optimism about what’s possible when the industry collectively dives into such a forward-thinking program centred on resilience and adaptability.
Australian screen stories will always be an important part of our cultural identity, they help shape how we see ourselves and how the world perceives us. They share our truths, they show us how we can move forward, and they reflect how we laugh and how we live. Let’s find more ways to make them!
