As Director of Development for CBC Comedy, Samantha Morris Mastai is responsible for driving and overseeing the quality and diversity of the comedy development slate. Before joining CBC, Samantha was an Executive Producer and VP of Scripted at Lark Productions/Universal International Studios, leading development and production of scripted television for the international marketplace. She also developed original scripted comedies and dramas under her own production company, Roundabout Pictures. Samantha has extensive network experience, and previously supervised scripted comedy and drama as a production and development executive, both at Bell Media (CTV, Space, Bravo, TMN/HBO Canada, MTV Canada) and CBC. She began her career in independent film at Brightlight Pictures, producing a feature and several shorts. Samantha holds an MA in Communication and Art History from McGill University and is a graduate of the Canadian Film Centre’s Producers Lab.
