Richard has over twenty-five years of experience in the television industry, with creative and strategic leadership positions across a wide range of documentary and factual programming.

As Head of Documentary at Screen Australia, Richard is responsible for driving the strategic direction for the documentary funding programs as well as implementing broader agency wide priorities.

Before joining Screen Australia, Richard was Acting Head of Factual and Culture at the ABC. Prior to that he held other senior roles at the ABC including Managing Editor Factual and Culture, Manager of Development for Factual, Entertainment and Partnerships and Supervising Executive Producer.

Richard has also been a director/producer/writer on numerous series for the Australian and Asian markets.

Richard began his career in the UK at companies including Bazal, Endemol, Keo Films and RDF Media, working on factual content for ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, National Geographic, and ABC America.

Many of the documentaries and factual series he has been associated with have won major Australian and International industry awards.
