Ian Murray is the founder of 113 Partners, a boutique strategic advisory firm working with screen businesses across Australia and New Zealand. For over a decade he has helped independent production companies grow commercially, raise investment, and navigate the intersection of creative ambition and financial reality. His work spans strategic planning, capital raising, deal structuring, and the commercial challenges that come with building a sustainable screen business in a rapidly changing landscape.

Ian recently worked with Screen Australia to run a Private Investment Taskforce, exploring how to unlock greater levels of private capital in the screen sector. He continues to advise producers, investors, and government agencies on investment strategy, incentive structuring, and business model development, and is a trusted adviser to some of the most ambitious companies working in Australian film and television.

His earlier career included senior operational and commercial roles across media, advertising, and television production. At Brand New Media he helped grow the business from a $15 million to a $35 million turnover before its sale to ASX-listed Destra Corporation, and later expanded operations into New York. He subsequently joined Freehand Productions, then part of BBC Worldwide, as COO, overseeing its commercial operations and repositioning the business in an evolving media environment.

Ian holds a Bachelor of Business from UTS and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
