Biography
Rachel Gardner is an award-winning film and television Producer and founding Creative Director of Curio Pictures, launched in 2022. Previously, she spent seven years at See-Saw Films establishing their Australian television slate. Prior, as co-owner of Great Southern Television in New Zealand, she spearheaded their shift into scripted drama.
Recent Curio credits include Justin Kurzel’s The Narrow Road to the Deep North, which premiered at Berlinale and earned 9 AACTA Awards and a Golden Globe nomination for Jacob Elordi; The Artful Dodger (Disney+/Hulu), High Country Seasons 1 & 2 (Foxtel/BBC1/Hulu), and Playing Gracie Darling (Netflix US/Paramount+).
Some of her feature film credits as Producer include Thomas M Wright’s multi-award-winning sophomore film The Stranger, which premiered in competition at Cannes Film Festival, before breaking all ratings for an Australian film on global Netflix; and John Maclean’s Sundance Film Festival winning debut feature Slow West.
Further select television credits include Warwick Thornton’s Indigenous vampire hunter series Firebite, which launched AMC+ in Australia; Sam Strauss’s The End (Foxtel/Showtime/Sky), and both seasons of international-Emmy winner and Australia’s first Netflix original The New Legends of Monkey.
