Biography
Philip Tarl Denson is an award-winning screenwriter and producer from Darwin, NT, working across genre-driven film and television. His projects span the U.S. and Australian industries, including the sci-fi feature SINGULARITY with RIDLEY SCOTT (Alien, Blade Runner), Mars-set horror RIFT with UMBRELLA (dir. Zak Hilditch), and a horror feature for Brad Fuller (A Quiet Place). He also wrote the animated family feature, THE LOST TIGER (2025) for Universal, and has developed projects with Eric Heisserer (Arrival), Brandon Cronenberg (Possessor) and more.
In the TV space, Philip was a writer on GHOSTS AUSTRALIA for Paramount+, and has several original projects in development, including a political thriller with Endemol Shine (NCIS: Sydney) and a mystery sci-fi with Northern Pictures and NICKY WEINSTOCK (Severance). In 2019, Philip received a phone call from RON HOWARD to develop his original series, ANOMALY, through Imagine Impact, attaching Michael London (Snowfall, Sideways) and Legendary Entertainment (Dune, Godzilla). Philip has also had a first-look TV deal with NBCUniversal via Tony Ayres Productions and Matchbox Pictures.
As producer, Philip was selected as one of Screen Producers Australia’s “Ones To Watch” in 2020 and has gone on to produce award-winning web series, stage plays, short films and a short documentary for the ABC. Philip is represented by Entertainment 360 and Verve in the US, and Liberty Artist Management in Australia.
