Biography
Award-winning actress Marta Dusseldorp has worked extensively in theatre, film and television for many years and is one of Australia's most recognised actresses.
Marta has a wealth of experience on stage and she has worked in nearly every major theatre in the country. She was a member of Sydney Theatre Company's Actor's Company where she received a Helpmann Award for her role in Shakespeare's WAR OF THE ROSES and for her performance as Gloria in GLORIA at Griffin Theatre she won Best Actress at the Sydney Theatre Awards.
Marta is not only a performer; in 2020 she founded Archipelago Productions in Lutruwita/Tasmania, a theatre/film and TV company. They produced main stage productions of The Bleeding Tree, The Maids and the upcoming premiere of The Sound Inside by Adam Rapp in Hobart, Tasmania. Marta also co-created, produced and starred as the lead role of Stella in both seasons of BAY OF FIRES, ABC's most watched show in 2023.
Marta has also starred in the popular series A PLACE TO CALL HOME, JACK IRISH opposite Guy Pearce, and JANET KING. Her accolades include winning the AACTA Award for Best Lead Actress in a TV Drama for ABC's JANET KING, where she played the title role and was Associate Producer. Her work on JANET KING was also nominated a second time at the AACTAs, and she has been nominated for multiple TV Week Logie Awards for both JANET KING and A PLACE TO CALL HOME. She was also nominated for the TV Week Silver Logie for Most Outstanding Actress for her work in Foxtel's critically acclaimed drama series THE TWELVE.
Her film credits include Paul Cox's award-winning INNOCENCE, PRAISE, PARADISE ROAD and ELLIE & ABBIE. Most recently for WITH OR WITHOUT YOU Marta was nominated for the AACTA and won the Film Critics Circle Award for Best Supporting Actress. She will next star in the film CATERPILLAR written and directed by Chelsie Preston Crayford which premieres in May 2026.
