Deirdre Brennan / Formerly Executive, NBCUniversal
A respected global media executive, Deirdre Brennan joined NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment in 2017 as General Manager, Universal Kids. The role managed network operations, content strategy, programming, marketing and digital, working across NBCU to optimise the company’s kids & family business. Under her leadership, production expanded significantly, earning 13 daytime Emmy nominations for the originals produced under the new brand including American Ninja Warrior Junior and Top Chef Junior.
Brennan was appointed VP, Content by Corus Entertainment in 2016, overseeing all aspects of the Corus Kids portfolio in Canada, including YTV, Treehouse, Nickelodeon, Teletoon, Cartoon Network, Disney Channel and Disney Junior. Prior to joining Corus, she was Head of Children’s Television, ABC TV, leading programming, acquisition and commissioning for Australia’s most successful children’s services from 2013.
As Director of Content/General Manager for BBC Worldwide Australia 2010-2013, she managed BBC’s branded services and content development across drama, entertainment and factual, as well as regional IP management and audience strategy, including the launch of BBC First. Brennan also served as Director of Programming, Nickelodeon Australia 2007-2010.
Deirdre is a Member of the International Academy of Television, Arts and Sciences and BAFTA NY.
