Legendary cinematographer John Seale received his fifth Oscar nod for Mad Max: Fury Road (he won for The English Patient) and converted to shooting digitally after his first digital experience on George Miller’s epic. He had a lot of affection for celluloid but came to regard it as an archaic form which had to give way to a simpler, faster and cheaper process. John discusses the effect digitization has had on the craft of cinematography with Madeleine Parry (Director of Emmy-winner Nanette).
