The Bunya Talent Hub LA\, supported by Netf lix and Screen Australia ‘s Indigenous Department\, is a five-day incubato r program facilitated by Australians in Film in Los Angeles. The selected projects are by some of our best Indigenous creative talent across a varie ty of genres and formats.
\n\nThe creative teams and participants co mprise a total of fourteen screen practitioners\, with their projects incl uding a range of feature film and TV series ideas encompassing comedy\, dr ama\, and the supernatural.
\n\nAs part of the Incubator the teams r eceive development funding\, one-on-one international mentorship from Aust ralians in Film (AiF) and participate in a companion writing program with Netflix. One project will then be chosen for a development deal with Netfl ix\, and to be produced with the esteemed Bunya Productions. Originally sc heduled to take place in Los Angeles in May 2020\, the Hub was rescheduled into a virtual event in early 2021 due to Covid-19 travel restrictions. R epresentatives from Screen Australia’s Indigenous department\, Netflix and some of the selected teams will discuss the initiative\, the projects bei ng developed\, the regeneration and depth of talent in Australian Indigeno us filmmaking and Netflix taking these stories to a global stage.
