Claire Mundell / Synchronicity Films
Claire Mundell is a BAFTA and RTS award-winning screen executive and Founder / Creative Director of production company Synchronicity Films. Synchronicity has an active slate of high-end international TV drama projects including a scripted adaptation of Hanif Kureishi’s The Body and a series based on the Sunday Times / New York Times bestseller The Tattooist of Auschwitz.
Claire exec-produced the BBC One and ABC mini-series, The Cry, a psychological thriller starring Jenna Coleman, adapted from Helen FitzGerald’s novel by Jacquelin Perske, which debuted to critical acclaim and an average overnight audience in the UK of 7.3m viewers.
Other credits include Karen Gillan's 2018 directorial debut feature, The Party's Just Beginning and the 5-star reviewed Only You, a modern-day love story starring Laia Costa and Josh O'Connor, written and directed by Harry Wootliff, produced in collaboration with The Bureau and distributed by Curzon UK.
Claire’s feature film career started when she produced the 2009 BAFTA award winning Crying With Laughter, written and directed by Justin Molotnikov, followed by the double BIFA-winning, Weekend, written and directed by Andrew Haigh. Shortly thereafter, Claire produced Not Another Happy Ending starring Karen Gillan in her first leading feature role.
Prior to establishing Synchronicity, Claire worked in network television at the BBC as a producer, director, executive producer and ultimately in senior management, as Head of CBBC Scotland.
Claire consults widely for film and TV organisations and is a Council Member and Board Director of PACT.
