Jeffery Finkelstein / Del Shaw Moonves Tanaka Finkelstein & Lezcano
Jeffrey Finkelstein is a partner in Del Shaw Moonves Tanaka Finkelstein & Lezcano, a boutique transactional entertainment law firm based in Los Angeles. His practice is devoted to advising, strategizing, negotiating and working closely alongside his clients to help them fully realize their creative initiatives and projects in the television, film and digital media spaces, along with related extensions and ancillary opportunities. He specializes in the representation of writers, producers, actors and other on-camera talent, directors, executives, entrepreneurs, influencers, rights holders, creators, IP and production companies.
As a member of the law firm for all but three months of its nearly thirty-year history, Jeff has lived through mammoth changes in our industry, from the explosion of cable, to the rise of studio-programmers, to the growing popularity of unscripted programming, the decline of the studio medium-budgeted film, the reconfiguration of home entertainment by the streaming services and the globalization of entertainment. Throughout, Jeff and the firm have had to adjust to and anticipate the resultant changes in deal-making that keep the practice of entertainment law for lawyers on the artists’ side both fresh and challenging.
Jeff and the law firm bring an industry-leading commitment to diversity and inclusion in the entertainment field, having made a point of doing so since the law firm started. As a consequence, women, minorities, and LGBTQ are well represented among the firm’s clients, staff and lawyers. Now twenty-three lawyers, the firm continues to grow to accommodate increasing demand for its services.
