David Gurney is a well-known EP, creator, writer and director of animated television series and interactive media. In 1998 he co-founded Blue Rocket Productions, a multi award winning animation studio based in Tasmania. David created and directed Australia's first CGI animated television series, Hoota & Snoz. He has executive produced and directed 19 television series, a feature length telemovie, and numerous productions for Blue Rocket. His most recent television series include Keeko for ABC Australia and, Dumbotz and Fanshaw & Crudnut which were co-produced with Beyond Entertainment and feature regularly on Nine Network’s GO Channel. He has also created television series for other production companies and has worked as Creative Director of numerous award-winning interactive productions for Blue Rocket and various organisations including ABC Australia. David is Deputy Chair of Wide Angle Tasmania and was a board member of The Australian Script Centre for six years. David holds a Masters in Screen Arts and Business from AFTRS.
