Jennie Hughes is currently Director, Screen Territory. During her tenure, Jennie fully-delivered the Screen Industry Development Plan 2018-2020, highlights included the launch of the Business Enterprise Program, and the Centralised initiative with SAFC, Screen Australia, NITV, ABC, DAF and AFTRS. NT screen production has also grown significantly over the past two years which includes large budget NT produced children’s series “MaveriX” with Screen Australia, ACTF, ABC and SAFC, which has sold globally to Netflix. Prior to Screen Territory, Jennie worked for SBS where she was Chair of the Gender Equality Committee; CEO New York Film Academy; COO Screen Queensland (securing San Andreas and Unbroken to film in the state); Festival Director, Brisbane International Film Festival; Executive Director - Open Channel; Head of Programming Ovation Channel and Executive VP Macquarie Filmed Investments where she managed three funds totalling $65.2 million which was subsequently invested in $100 million of Australian screen production. She was Paramount Pictures’ licensing agent and Executive Producer of award-winning feature films “Gettin’ Square” and “Dirty Deeds”. She is a former Board member of the Australian Film Institute/AACTA and Central Coast Arts Centre. Jennie has participated in screen industry reviews and was the Chair of the Investment Committee on the Australian Government’s Strategy Industry Leaders Group on Digital Content.
Filming in the Northern Territory and working with Screen Territory and other NT agencies including NT Tourism and NT Major Events.
