Co-founder of production company ArtSpear, Joe Bauer has been writing and creating films since he was 11 years old.

Joe won numerous awards for his shorts as a young filmmaker and moved on to write, direct, edit and star in multi-award-winning internationally-distributed feature films Australiens, The Killage and web series The Void and The Void: Rebooted.

Joe is the co-writer, sole animator, composer, sound designer and male voice actor for Toon Sandwich, a YouTube series that has gained over 1 billion views and 3.5 million subscribers. Joe is also an illustrator of 6 children’s books - the popular Eric Vale and Derek Dale trilogies - all of which have been published in multiple countries around the world.

In 2023, Joe co-created, directed and acted in true crime mockumentary series UnTrue Crime, a recipient of Screen Australia and YouTube's 2023 Skip Ahead initiative. In 2024 he was accepted into Nicholas Weinstock's Craft Services screenwriting network.
