Biography
Magda Szubanski has made Australia laugh for nearly four decades in iconic shows such as ‘D-Generation’, ‘Fast Forward’ and ‘Full Frontal’, but most famously for her beloved character 'Sharon Strzelecki’ - the eager but accident-prone netball player - which she created for the immensely successful TV show ‘Kath & Kim.’ Internationally, she is best known for her role as ‘Mrs Hoggett’ in George Miller’s landmark films ‘Babe’; ‘Babe: Pig in the City’; and ‘Miss Viola’ in ‘Happy Feet’ and ‘Happy Feet 2’.

She garnered a whole new generation of fans after her hugely popular ‘Uber eats‘ commercial with Kim Kardashian - in which Magda ad-libbed many of her lines.

Magda’s other film credits include ‘The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course’, alongside the late Steve Irwin; ‘The Golden Compass’, with Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig; ‘Dr Plonk’ directed by Rolf de Heer; ‘Bran Nu Dae’ by Rachel Perkins; as well as starring alongside Ronan Keating in the musical comedy, ‘Goddess’ in 2013.

Magda is also a best-selling, award-winning author, as seen from the release of her acclaimed memoir Reckoning in late 2015 for which she garnered numerous awards including Book of the Year; Memoir of the Year and the NSW Premier’s Literary Award.

In 2018 Magda was made an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for her advocacy in the Marriage Equality Campaign, and Vogue Australia listed her as a "Game Changer".

On repeated occasions she has been voted one of the country’s most trusted and recognizable celebrities.
