Danielle Ah Boo is a proud Torres Strait Islander woman, born and raised on Thursday Island. In October 2023, she became Screen Queensland’s first Head of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Unit, a leadership role established to elevate and amplify First Nations voices across Queensland’s screen industry.

Ms. Ah Boo has a diverse career background, including work in production at the First Nations-founded agency Carbon Creative and in financial accounting at Ernst & Young and Arrow Energy. She has also served as Treasurer and now Co-Chair of Reconciliation Queensland and recently joined Brisbane Festival’s Indigenous Advisory Group.

At Screen Queensland, Ms. Ah Boo focuses on raising awareness of the cultural importance of First Nations storytelling and fostering opportunities for First Nations voices in the screen industry.
