Identified as one of Australia's breakout screenwriters by Screen Australia, Hughes was mentored under Ron Howard's Impact Australia accelerator, and has received ongoing support from Screen Queensland and Arts Queensland to bring her writing to screen. Hughes’ smart, queer, feminist perspective marks her distinctly authored voice.
