Biography
Kulbinder Saran Caldwell is a creative entrepreneur, global storyteller, an award-winning producer/agent, certified professional coach, an active community builder and dedicated diversity advocate. She is the Founder & CEO of REALLIFE Pictures Inc. Kulbinder was born and raised in northern British Columbia. She is the daughter of immigrant parents who came to Canada from India in the 1960’s. She attended university in Vancouver at BCIT and UBC in business and marketing. She founded an award-winning music video production company in the late 1990s in Vancouver. After moving to Toronto, Kulbinder worked in the corporate sector, performed charity work and chaired the inaugural Sikh Film Festival of Toronto. In 2015 she resurrected REALLIFEpics as a coaching program for WOC filmmakers. In 2019, it evolved into REALLIFE Pictures Inc., a film and television production company and literary agency representing diverse, neurodiverse and LGBTQIA+ screenwriters. Kulbinder is spearheading the production of “Dan Sharp Mysteries”, a television adaptation of a book series by a Canadian author. Her producing credits include co producer of directorial feature film debuts of filmmaker Sharon Lewis’ “Brown Girl Begins” and writer/director Gloria Ui Young Kim’s “Queen of the Morning Calm”; plus co-producer of director Rakhi Mutta’s digital series “Anarkali”. Kulbinder is an active committee member at CMPA and the Producers Roundtable of Ontario. Kulbinder fosters a life-long passion for diversity. She lives in Toronto with her husband, two children and two dogs.
