Biography
Sally Browning has more than 25 years experience in the film & TV industry working across documentary and factual, children’s television, drama/comedy, animation and factual entertainment. She creates, writes, produces and occasionally takes on directing. Experienced in co-productions, she actively seeks out international partners and welcomes collaborative creative and financing opportunities.
Some of her recent work includes the popular and successful ABC factual series Muster Dogs (now in season 4) as both Director and Producer, Producer of the Italian-Australian feature doc and official co production Sand Roads (currently in post production), Executive Producer of the 3-part SBS documentary series Perspective Shift; creator/producer of the ABC’s short form animation series The Stickie Gang, co-creator and EP of two seasons of the family comedy drama series, Drop Dead Weird (DDW), an official Australian-Irish copro with the Seven Network/ITV/RTE and creator/Producer of the ABC’s children’s factual format Project Planet. Some of Sally’s award-winning adult factual and documentary programs include Muster Dogs, The Diplomat, Taking Care of Elvis, Blue Zoo, The Secret Safari, Stranger in the Family, Calling Young Hong Kong, Staying Out, Raskols and The Christmas Cake, dealing with subjects ranging from international and domestic socio-political themes, to sustainability and environment, pop culture, autism and personal character studies.
She is a former Head of Development & Investment for Screen NSW (2001-2006) and a former Investment Manager for Screen Australia (2006-2012).
