SCRIPTED TELEVISION

CBC is home to some of Canada’s longest-running and award-winning original dramas; Heartland, Murdoch Mysteries, SkyMed, Blackberry. We work alongside independent producers and creators, ensuring that our series highlights the diversity of Canadian communities and that our country is reflected in the programming we offer. We are most actively looking for contemporary, ongoing procedurals grounded by dazzling characters. We want a strong hook, heart and significant, palpable stakes. We look for serialized programming as well, ongoing or limited series. In this realm, stories that represent themes of significant Canadian identity are prioritized. If we can describe them as thrilling, suspenseful and - above all - entertaining, you are on the right track. We love it when creators tell us they couldn’t make their show anywhere else, then we know we have something perfect for CBC.
