Biography
Nel Minchin is a director, writer and producer with a reputation for making compelling and thought- provoking documentaries. Her work has won a Rose D’Or, Walkley Documentary Award, AACTA Award and Australian Directors Guild Awards and been nominated at Mipcom Cannes, the Logies and AIDC. Works include theatrical feature documentary Firestarter - The Story of Bangarra, observational access arts films Matilda and Me and Making Muriel, sports series Folau about rugby player Israel Folau and the clash of religion, LGBTQI rights and freedom of speech, and women’s social history series The Way We Wore with Celeste Barber. She has recently established the factual department at one of Australia’s leading independent production companies, Easy Tiger Productions, and is always on the lookout for brilliant stories and filmmakers.
