Her love affair with storytelling began in Radio as a BBC Broadcast Journalist and Presenter, where she launched her career in news and current affairs. Her passion drew her to television, producing talk shows, documentaries, lifestyle, and reality TV.

From the culinary delights of MasterChef and MKR to the dramatic intrigue of The Bachelor and Below Deck, she has been involved in a vast catalog of award-winning formats. Yana works alongside exceptionally talented teams with the most acclaimed production companies in the world.

Most recently, as Head of Creative Diversity for TV and Online Content at SBS, she advocated for inclusive storytelling and empowerment of underrepresented voices; ensuring Australian screens reflect the rich diversity of modern audiences.

Born in the UK to a multicultural family spanning continents and faiths, Yana proudly embraces her African-Caribbean identity. Having lived in Sweden, the US and Belgium, she brings a global sensibility to her work, inspired by stories of resilience, survival, and love.
