Biography
Rae Choi is a Chinese-Australian filmmaker with a background in intellectual property law and community arts. As a producer, she is known for her dedication to ambitious projects, including filming an independent feature across Australia, Italy, and France on 16mm. She has been supported by programs with Screen Australia, Screen Queensland, For Film’s Sake, AFTRS, and PlatformBUSAN (South Korea), and her films have screened internationally and been broadcast in the UK and Australia.

Rae’s debut short as writer/director, WHEN THE SKY WAS BLUE, was nominated for an Australian Writers’ Guild Award and SPA Award, and streamed on SBS On Demand. She went on to co-write and produce the ABC-commissioned short film VIV'S SILLY MANGO.

In 2023, Rae was a recipient of Screen Australia's Enterprise program, where she worked as a development producer at Good Apples Pictures. She has previously worked with the Asia Pacific Screen Awards, Matchbox Pictures, the Australian Children’s Television Foundation, and Singapore’s Momo Film Co.

Recognised as one of SPA’s 2024 Ones to Watch, Rae is currently developing a slate of film and television projects through her production company, Limina Pictures—where stories thrive in the space between what was and what could be.
