Biography
Sam Dixon is a writer/director hailing from the mountain village of Maleny/Conondale in South-East Queensland Australia. His short films and music clips have played at film festivals around Australia and the world.

His first short, 'The Sunshine State' premiered at the Melbourne International Film Festival in 2012 and in 2013 he participated in the Melbourne International Film Festival's Accelerator Program with his short 'Old Mate'. In 2015 he was selected for Screen Queensland's Projector Program to develop his first feature length script, and was subsequently chosen to pitch this same feature script 'Our Mother The Mountain' at IFP (Independent Film Project) in New York. In October 2018, his Screen Queensland funded short horror film, 'No Friend In The Forest', premiered at ScreamFest in Los Angeles.

His debut feature film 'A Grand Mockery', co-written, co-directed and co-produced with fellow filmmaker Adam C. Briggs, premiered at SXSW Sydney 2024 where it also won the award for Best Feature Film, and his next short ‘Bedframe', written and co-produced by Adele Perovic, premiered at Sydney Underground Film Festival 2024.

'A Grand Mockery' is going on to play at Fantastic Film Fest Australia, and Revelation Perth Film Festival.
