Martine Kropkowski has worked as a soldier, journalist and academic. Her short fiction and essays on literature and culture regularly appear across literary journals and anthologies. She teaches professional and creative writing at The University of Queensland where she is also completing a PhD investigating the ways that fiction explores contemporary social issues, such as domestic abuse and family violence. Her debut novel Everywhere We Look was published in 2024, and her second novel Left Behind is due for publication in September 2025 with Ultimo Press.
