Biography
Robertino is an Oscar-shortlisted director, producer, animator and writer. He is the founder of KAPWA, a Sydney-based animation studio. He is best known for his animated TED-Ed film Accents, which won the Cristal at the Annecy Animation Festival, and Love in the Time of March Madness, which won at the Tribeca Film Festival, was nominated for an AACTA, and shortlisted for an Academy Award in 2016. His work has screened at dozens of festivals worldwide, and played on Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and Netflix. Most recently Robertino guest-directed Billie Eilish’s music video Not My Responsibility, as part of the Grammy-nominated Disney+ concert film Happier Than Ever (2021). Robertino is a recent recipient of the Screen Australia Enterprise Grant, and is producing the adult animation series, Fish Boi, with Screen Australia and SBS as part of the Digital Originals initiative.
