Kate McCormack’s first position in the book industry was as Publishing Assistant at Cengage. She then travelled to London where she worked at the landmark Strand bookshop Foyles, as an Assistant Literary Agent at The Sayle Agency, and International Sales and Rights Manager at Virgin Books. She went on to do an internship in Chennai, India, at independent publisher Tara Books, and then joined Penguin Australia, where she spent over nine years and was promoted numerous times. In 2016 she moved to UQP. During her over fifteen years in publishing she has been lucky enough to travel around the globe, successfully selling rights to literary works and being closely involved with artists and arts workers, including publishers, authors, film, TV and theatre producers, agents, illustrators and designers.
