I’ve worked at Hachette Australia for over two years in the Rights and Contracts departments. Hachette Australia’s lists are wonderfully versatile and I have a particular love for those books that combine a unique perspective with a cracking story. I find it especially satisfying when the stars align and our wonderful books anticipate or catch emerging cultural trends. We have an exciting range of Children’s illustrated titles publishing in 2021, with both fiction and non-fiction properties available. Recent film successes on our Children’s list include options on Kerry Greenwood’s The Long Walk and Sami Bayly’s The Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Ugly Animals. On the Adult list, we’ve recently optioned Leigh Straw’s Lillian Armfield, have renewed the option on J.D. Barrett’s The Secret Recipe for Second Chances and we were thrilled to see the team who optioned Maxine Beneba Clarke’s Foreign Soil receive Screen Australia funding.
