Upright is Foxtel’s breakout hit and one of its most successful Australian originals in history, created by and starring Tim Minchin. The unlikely tale of a mismatched pair on a road trip with a twist that has drawn fans from across the globe. Now in production on its second eight-part season and produced by Lingo Pictures for Foxtel Group and Sky UK, audiences will follow Lucky and Meg on a new adventure out of the desert and into Far North Queensland this year when it goes to air.

In this content showcase, Foxtel Group Executive Director of Television Brian Walsh sits down with Executive Producer Jason Stephens and two of the show’s writers Niki Aken (The Newsreader, The Hunting) and Ian Meadows (Clickbait, RFDS), to discuss how they were able to propel the story into the new season, keeping the scripting and characters fresh with that unique and global appeal.
