Ian is the founder of Easy Tiger Productions, having been a partner and Head of Scripted at Essential Media & Entertainment, one of Australia’s best known television production companies. Essential was accorded the SPAA ‘Producer of the Year’ Award in 2012. He is highly regarded for his talent-led approach.
Ian is a highly experienced drama and factual television producer in the local and international arenas. He is the series producer of five seasons of Rake, the comedy drama series for ABC TV starring Richard Roxburgh and guest starring Toni Collette, Cate Blanchett, Rachel Griffiths, Hugo Weaving and Sam Neill. In addition, he was an Exec Producer on the United States version of Rake for the Fox Network and starring Greg Kinnear.
Ian has produced three seasons of the 6-part series of Jack Irish for the ABC starring Guy Pearce, which included shoots in Manila and India. He previously produced three telemovies of the Jack Irish franchise: Bad Debts, Black Tide and Dead Point. He co-created and produced Doctor Doctor (five seasons) for Nine Network; as well as the SBS dramas Sunshine – which won AWG, ADG and Best Miniseries AACTA Awards, opened Series Mania and received three nominations at the Monte Carlo TV Festival; and The Principal, which was selected for Mannheim-Heidelberg International Film Festival. His feature film credits include the Disney financed Saving Mr Banks starring Tom Hanks, Emma Thompson, Colin Farrell, Paul Giamatti and others, and directed by John Lee Hancock.
