Biography
A proud Wiradjuri woman, Marissa is passionate about working with the film industry to share creatively ambitious and diverse contemporary First Nations-authored stories that are engaging and have global appeal.

She has worked with NITV commissioning original First Nations stories since early 2021 and as Head of Commissions for the dedicated national Indigenous channel – part of the SBS network – she oversees the development and production of NITV’s content slate including documentaries, drama, entertainment, and children’s programming.

Throughout her career, she has worked with First Nation communities telling their stories through multimedia platforms. Her documentaries have been screened on SBS/NITV, poetry published with Us Mob Writers and photographs displayed at PhotoAccess and the Sydney Living Museum.

She has received her Master of Arts Screen Business and Leadership at the Australian Film Television and Radi

NITV commissions world class, authentic First Nations stories from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, for all Australians. We aim to support high impact First Nations stories across content that is Blak, broad and entertaining, across factual, unscripted and children’s series.

NITV is open to receiving pitches that are from First Nations creatives or teams that include First Nations peoples in key creatives roles.

We are looking for exciting new formats for premium factual content that spark national conversation, can cut through, and have global reach.
