For Screen NSW Sofya works across all funded genres in development and production finance as well as managing initiatives with public broadcasters, agencies and festivals. Sofya is adept in project management from assessment to delivery, working in close consultation with stakeholders, including filmmakers, local and international broadcasters, state and federal film funding agencies and philanthropic investors. Coming from a background as an award-winning screenwriter, playwright, producer and developer she is highly experienced in storytelling genres and platforms, leveraging 20+ years’ experience in content creation and advocating for diversity inclusion, implementing real change in cultural practice and diverse representation on screen. Sofya also identifies as a creative with disability (Deaf), whose range of accomplished films and plays have been informed by that lived experience. As such, she is a leader in the design and delivery of disability-led screen programs and works in leadership roles across the screen, arts and disability sector.
