Biography
Hannah Pembroke is part of the Netflix ANZ Content team, joining the company in early 2021. Previously she worked in development at industry-leading production company Matchbox Pictures. At Matchbox she worked with and learned from the industry’s most celebrated creatives; in Australia and across the world and developed titles for every broadcaster in Australia; as well as international buyers like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon and Apple. She began her career as a freelancer in film and television production before moving to the award-winning kids/animation company SLR Productions. Across her career Hannah has been involved in a number of titles including; Byron Baes (Netflix), Wellmania (Netflix), Stateless (ABC), Secret City: Under the Eagle (Foxtel), Clickbait (Netflix), Irreverent (Netflix/Peacock), Safe Harbour (SBS), The Heights (ABC), Hungry Ghosts (SBS), Glitch (ABC), Guess How Much I Love You (ABC), Lexie and Lottie (Ten)
What we're looking for from Ready, Steady, Pitch!
Netflix is looking for long-form Scripted and Unscripted projects that are specific and uniquely Australian with an Aussie tone & sensibility. Consider your projects; why could this only be set in Australia and told from an Australian perspective. We’re looking for projects that are commercial, broad and at home on a bingeable, streaming service. Your project should display great clarity in it’s audience proposition - not just who the audience might be - but the why someone will care. A project that is right for Netflix should have a clear hook, purposiveness with strong and surprising story twists & turns.
