Biography
Isaac Elliott an Australian Directors Guild (ADG) nominated director working across documentary and drama. He began making films in 2007 after a motorcycle accident left him confined to a wheelchair. Studying film at Deakin University, his graduating film, A Static Wind was awarded Best Tertiary ShortFiction at 2016 ATOM awards, a finalist inthe 2017 Lexus Australia Shortfilm fellowship.

Isaac produced and starred inthe feature documentary Finke:There and Back, Brindle films. 2019 he directed Burlesque Blokes, a documentary exploring the life of an Australian male stripper reaching over 2 million views online. He directed television special, The Legend of Burnout Barry for ABC andACTF which garnered him a nomination for Best Direction in a Children’s program at 2020 Australian Directors Guild awards.

In 2021 Isaac made series direction debut, taking on 2 episodes of ABC Kids/Netflix TV series MaveriX. Created along with Rachel Clements and Sam Meikle. Set to release Easter 2022. He directed short film Don’t Come In… Yet! starring Oli Pizzey-Stratford (The legend of Burnout Barry), Ella Newton (Harrow), Toby Truslove and Warwick Capper. Currently making festival rounds.

He was listed on the Inside Films RISING STARS director for 2022, and is in production, short documentary We Are Sexual Beings for SBS and Film Victoria. This film will explore what it’s like to be young, disabled and sexual in modern Australia.

Isaac draws from experience growing up in Alice Springs along with his living with a disability to explore unique and interesting characters, through a compassionate and thoughtful lens.
