Hayley has passionately championed storytelling and creative production during her eight years working in the publishing industry.
She has worked at Bolinda, Macmillan and Melbourne University Press where she pitched MUP’s key titles to producers at the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF).
Most recently, Hayley was acquisitions manager at Wavesound, where she published ABIA award shortlisted audiobooks Honeybee (Craig Silvey) and Mammoth (Chris Flynn). Robbie Arnott’s Flames was also commissioned for television series production subsequent to its audio publication by Wavesound.
Hayley acted as the sole acquirer of AUS literary rights for audio publication, citing promising manuscripts and often securing audio rights before print deals had been done. Hayley has worked with many agents and publishers and has developed an in-depth understanding of upcoming titles and their prospective suitability for live production. She has also been responsible for the pitching and merchandising of titles to e-tailers including Apple Books, Google Play and Audible.
