Biography
Cowtown Pictures (cowtownpictures.ie) is a narrative and documentary film production company founded by producers Alan Maher and John Wallace. Recent work includes: the IFTA-award winning RIALTO, written by Mark O’Halloran and directed by Peter Mackie Burns, which was released theatrically in 2020; and the feature documentaries PHIL LYNOTT: SONGS FOR WHILE I’M AWAY; and THE 8th, both due for release in summer 2021. Currently in post-production are: Andrew Legge’s L.O.L.A., starring Emma Appleton and Stefanie Martini;
Prasanna Puwanarajah’s BALLYWALTER, starring Seána Kerslake and Patrick Kielty; and Oorlagh George’s STRANGER WITH A CAMERA, starring Ellie Bamber. Past productions include SONG OF GRANITE, DOLLHOUSE, FOREVER PURE, BEING AP, STANDBY, SHOWRUNNERS, and LOSING ALASKA.

Cowtown Pictures is very excited to participate in the Screen Forever Co-Production Forum. We hope it will provide an opportunity to connect with Australian producers who we can build meaningful creative partnerships with. In particular, we are currently developing a television series, supported by Screen Ireland, that we envisage as an Ireland-Australia co-productions. We are also seeking feature films and television series that we can act as Irish co-producers on.
