BAIN STEWART is a Ngugi-Goenpul-Noonuccal man and Traditional Owner of Quandamooka, which includes Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island) and Moorgumpin (Moreton island) in Sth East Queensland. He is the originating and lead producer of creative content across film, TV, publishing and theatre, and mentor to many First Nation artists across the creative industries . He was lead producer for THE DROVER’S WIFE THE LEGEND OF MOLLY JOHNSON, which received 13 AACTA nominations, including Best Film. His other credits include the IF Award winning documentary BLACK CHICKS TALKING, and multiple-award winning plays, THE DROVER’S WIFE, and BOX THE PONY. He is EP for the AACTA award winning comedy, ALL MY FRIENDS ARE RACIST. Bain’s responsibility is to walk the line of Indigenous truth, cultural respect and commercial appeal.

Bain is co-director, with Leah Purcell, of OOMBARRA PRODUCTIONS, a wholly Indigenous-led production company, which has garnered multiple awards and honours, distinguishing the company and its principals as Australian cultural leaders. Oombarra is renowned for its creation and exploitation of IP through film, TV, theatre, documentary and publishing. Oombarra's projects have multifaceted extensions stemming from their original concepts and intellectual property, transcending various platforms.
