First Nations stories are Australia’s stories. How can we continue to improve the way we collaborate to tell these stories authentically, in ways that respect and reflect culture, connect with community, empower and elevate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices, and strengthen the capability and capacity among Indigenous and non-Indigenous practitioners? In the wake of last year’s referendum, Australian screen stories have an important role to play in truth-telling for this country, and this panel of representatives from across the sector will discuss what’s working well, where creatives and the industry as a whole need to do better, and why.
