Biography
ERIN SANDIFORD is the rights and contracts manager at UQP, a multi-award-winning literary publishing house in Australia. She is responsible for selling rights in UQP’s adult and children’s/YA list in all markets outside ANZ, including North America and the UK, translation, film/TV and audio. During her career, Erin has represented some of Australia’s most prominent authors at international book fairs and inbound programs, and has helped to execute successful rights campaigns for several international bestsellers, as well as the film rights in over 30+ optioned books, including Acute Misfortune, the film adaptation of Erik Jensen’s award-winning biography of Adam Cullen (Arenamedia). Erin is part of UQP’s acquisitions team and sustainability team.

UQP is known for publishing literary works and for connecting readers with diverse voices, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stories. UQP is the proud publisher of Doris (Nugi Garimara) Pilkington’s Follow the Rabbit-Proof Fence, which was successfully adapted into a major film by Phillip Noyce. UQP was named the 2023, 2022 and 2021 Australian Small Publisher of the Year, is a proud signatory to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Publishers Compact, and is carbon positive.
