Boyd Quakawoot Is a writer of Australian South Sea Islander and Indigenous descent from Mackay in North Queensland, Yuwi Country. In 2019-2020 he was a writer on Season 4 of the ABC sketch comedy show "Black Comedy." He was also a writer on Season 1 of the murder mystery series, “Black Snow” in 2023 as well as the upcoming Season 2 of “Troppo” 2024.

He was shortlisted for the 2020 Monte Miller Award -Short Form, for his short film screenplay, “Dawg and the Stonefish.” He has also been shortlisted twice for the David Unaipon Award at the Queensland Literary Awards and twice highly commended for the Black & Write Fellowship with the Queensland State Library.

“Windcatcher” is the first feature he has written which is to be released in 2024 on STAN.
