Description

PBS KIDS’ mission is to use the power of media to open worlds of possibilities for all of America’s children. We work with educational consultants and advisors to ensure our content enriches our audience's lives in specific and engaging ways. PBS KIDS content can help kids with basic literacy, math and science skills. We prepare kids for success in school and in life by focusing on Emotional Well-Being, Executive Function skills (like collaboration and communication) and by offering a mirror and a window through our content for children in the US to see themselves and see others. Why is this important? In the US more than half of all children don’t have access to high quality pre-kindergarten programs. PBS KIDS content is everywhere today’s kids are. One of the platforms (and format) that distinguishes our work is around games. We've been leading innovation and engagement studies in that field because we see how watching and playing the show makes the learning take-aways stick. The other platform PBS distinguishes itself is here – the real world. We're a system of independent stations who embrace our content and embrace their communities in a powerful way.
