Screen Producers Australia (SPA) has today opened applications for Global Connect, SCREEN FOREVER 40’s competitive, curated co-production program designed for established Australian-based film and television producers seeking global partners and financing. The initiative is held as part of SPA Connect and will take place in person on Monday 27 April 2026, before the main conference begins on Queensland’s Gold Coast.
Following the success of UK Connect (2023), Ireland Connect (2024) and most recently Canada Connect (2025), the 2026 Global Connect initiative will focus on India as the primary international partner country, while also welcoming producers from the UK, Canada, Germany, France, Ireland, Italy, South Korea and China. The program is expected to bring together an up to 30-person delegation of Australian and international producers.
Global Connect aims to accelerate global partnerships and unlock additional funding streams to create new, award-winning film and television projects for international audiences. Selected Australian producers with gain unique opportunities to progress and finance their projects alongside international production partners and agencies.
Recognising the importance of Indigenous storytelling and shared experiences, SPA will make positions available for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander practitioners, who are are exempt from the requirement to have purchased a SCREEN FOREVER Gold Coast 3-Day Badge and do not need to meet all credit and experience requirements.

Producers selected to participate in Global Connect will be offered a full day of eventsfocused on doing business and unlocking additional funding, including exclusive talks, networking opportunities, and bespoke one-on-one meetings, all taking place on Monday 27 April 2026, prior to the official opening of SCREEN FOREVER 40.
