The Crisafulli Government is committed to growing Queensland’s screen industry by supporting local talent to build sustainable careers and provide economic opportunities for communities across the state.

In 2024–25, Screen Queensland supported 108 films, series and digital games, creating more than 5,000 employment opportunities. These productions generated more than $610 million in economic activity. The recent Screen Australia Drama Report also confirmed Queensland as the nation’s leading screen production state.,

The SPA Awards remain a highlight of the program, recognising the creativity and innovation shaping Australia’s screen industry. We are proud to see Queensland productions recognised with 10 nominations across multiple categories, including Black Snow, Joh: The Last King of Queensland, How to Make Gravy and Dreaming Big.
