Biography
Celia is co-founder and Managing Director of ARTEMIS MEDIA based in Fremantle, Western Australia. She emigrated from the UK in 1993, and together with her late business partner Brian Beaton, was active in pioneering, building and training the factual industry in WA, and in building Artemis into an award winning production house.
Celia has worked as a writer, producer, director and executive producer.
Over the last 26 years Artemis has produced stand out high impact factual TV for domestic and international networks and is renowned for stories that inspire, deljght and inform. Celia and her talented team has pushed the boundaries of factual content, form and inclusivity with creative concepts that inspire audiences and help create social change including Don’t Stop the Music, Maggie Beer’s Big Mission, Australia’s Health Revolution with Dr Michael Mosley, Who Do You Think You Are?, Every Family has a Secret, and Ningaloo Nyinggulu.
Celia was the recipient of AIDC’s 2025 Southern Light award for her outstanding contribution to nonfiction screen and media, and the Outstanding Contribution to Industry award at the WA2023 Screen Culture Awards.
