Biography
Henriette is an experienced entertainment professional with a career of more than 30 years in the film industry across the development, production, international sales, distribution and exhibition.In 2005 she moved to London and joined Celsius Entertainment soon after its creation in 2005 as a legal and business affairs consultant. Since 2009 she is leading the acquisitions department and in 2017, she added the management of the development and production slate alongside Thierry Wase-Bailey to her tasks.
In 2004 Henriette and Rochelle Grayson decided to create a German chapter of Women in Film and Television. They found 5 other women and launched it in 2005 at the 55th Berlinale. In the same year she was co-founder of Women in Film and Television Europe and Mediation in the Media, Music & in the Arts.
Currently in cinemas we have Sundance-winning MAGAZINE DREAMS (Briarcliff in the US) and BUTTERFLY STROKE with double Oscar nominee Judy Davis and Florence Hunt from BRIDGERTON is in post-production.
We have packaged and financed two films that shoot in March:
MATINEE IDOL, a feelgood romcom starring Asa Butterfield (SEX EDUCATION) and Rain Spencer (THE SUMMER I TURNED PRETTY; BIG GIRLS DON’T CRY).
DEEPFAKE, a mystery thriller from Sundance and Cannes alum Eddie Alcazar starring Walton Goggins (THE WHITE LOTUS), Nell Tiger Free (THE FIRST OMEN) and Dacre Montgomery (DEAD MAN’S WIRE).
We’re in the financing stage of ME VS ME, based on the bestselling book by Sarah Mlynowski and adapted by Jennie Snyder Urman (creator of JANE THE VIRGIN), a sliding-doors romcom set in the US.
Our other films include Park Chan-wook’s OLDBOY, which we also restored and remastered (US re-release via Neon grossed $1.8m Aug 2023), JUNIPER with Charlotte Rampling ($1.4m BO), THE LAST BUS with Timothy Spall ($2.3m BO), Isabel Coixet's THE BOOKSHOP with Bill Nighy and Emily Mortimer ($14m BO).
