Our appetite for diverse screen stories that capture the experiences and perspectives of the broadest range of human existence is growing, and yet screen writers from marginalised communities still face systemic barriers to the entry and advancement of their careers and their stories. Not only does this limit underrepresented writers’ growth within the industry, but it also limits authenticity of story.
