The mission statement at Beta currently reads: From Europe, About Europe, For Europe and the World. This is something I am trying to change. Here the goal is to find projects from Australia, about Australia, for the World. Genres: action, thriller, drama, romance, etc. really all genres are welcome except comedy. Doesn’t really travel. The most important thing is available material: we need scripts, synopsis, financing plan, and usually a commissioning broadcaster. We are first and foremost an international distribution company and would be looking to take things onboard that are further along in their development. We are also a production group so sometimes get on board projects early but that happens far less often. NB: Each pitch session lasts 15 minutes, and consists of producers pitching their project to industry buyers and receiving immediate constructive feedback.
